1 in 2 Men and 1 in 3 Women Will Develop Cancer In Their Lifetime!

Some cancers are out of our control, but we can reduce our risk with things like lifestyle and diet. And new research shows that mushrooms reduce the risk of cancer, so maybe we should start to make a habit out of consuming mushrooms.

Mushrooms have been shown to reduce the risk of cancer

A review of 17 studies that were published between 1966 and 2020, with data from nearly 20,000 cancer patients showed that people who incorporated mushrooms like shiitake into their daily diets had a lower risk of cancer than those who did not.

The amount of mushrooms that offered protection was about one quarter cup per day—not much!!

They are hearty and versatile in many dishes from salads to stir-fries, omelettes, soups, sauces and more! Click here for an amazing gluten-free and dairy-free mushroom soup recipe that you can add to your weekly menus!

Mushroom with the highest amount of cancer reduction

Mushrooms contain a powerful antioxidant called ergothioneine, which may be why they support cellular health and also reduce the risk of cancer.

The Top 4 Mushroom with the Highest amounts of Ergothioneine:

  1. Shiitake
  2. Oyster
  3. Maitake
  4. King Oyster

Mushrooms specifically work on the immune system to stimulate certain cells and genes to support the immune system and antitumor activity.

Not only does consuming mushrooms reduce the risk of cancer, but mushrooms like cordyceps are also anti-carcinogenic, meaning that they reduce tumor growth and metastasis, and also play a role as a chemotherapy adjuvant. Mushrooms specifically work on the immune system to stimulate certain cells and genes to support the immune system and anti-tumor activity.

To more specifically address cancer cell growth, medicinal mushrooms in a supplement form will have the most benefit. These mushrooms include Ganoderma lucidum, Cordyceps, Lions mane, Shiitake, Maitake and Coriolus.

Individual mushrooms in therapeutic doses are important for proper treatment, so it is vital to work with a trained professional to be able to utilize the best protocol for your specific condition.
